How do I add music to Illuminated?
Open Illuminated and go to File → Add Folder. Select any folder on your Mac and Illuminated will scan it and add all supported audio files to your library. Your files stay exactly where they are — Illuminated never moves or copies them.
What audio formats are supported?
Illuminated supports FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, and MP3. The format of each track is displayed as a badge in your library so you always know what you're listening to.
How do Smart Playlists work?
Smart Playlists are rule-based playlists that update automatically as your library changes. You can filter by any combination of BPM, key, format, artist, title, and more. For example: key is 8A and BPM greater than 124. Match all rules or any rule — your choice.
How do I connect my Last.fm account?
Go to Illuminated → Settings → Last.fm and sign in with your Last.fm credentials. Once connected, every track you play will be scrobbled automatically. You can disconnect at any time from the same settings screen.
How do I switch between visualizer presets?
While the visualizer is open, use the arrow buttons on the left side of the screen to cycle between presets. The visualizer responds in real time to the frequency and rhythm of whatever is playing.
How do I edit track metadata?
Right-click any track in your library and select Edit Metadata. You can update the title, artist, album, BPM, key, and more. Changes are written directly to the file.
